DRAWING MY TIMES, Cartoons by Bulbul, a 30 year retrospective,
is the title of Bulbul's latest cartoon book. After sorting through
30 years of her cartoons which she stored in an old trunk, she chose
cartoons for the collection that still resonate with today's happenings.
The 188 page paper back book contains 312 black and white
cartoons and 12 autobiographical essays. Topics range from labor, women,
kids, education, seniors, media, corporations, environment, economy,
health care, political issues and democracy. Price $15 plus $2.50
postage and handling.
"My cartoon art is a cross between social commentary and editorial
cartoon with emphasis on talk back, stand up for themselves, proactive
characters," says Bulbul with a bemused look and gleam in her eye.
" I love drawing characters that make a fuss and do unexpected things."
